Miles of Gratitude Challenge
Who’s ready for the holiday craze?! We are almost there, and if you’re like me, sometimes things move so fast, you don’t take that time to stop and enjoy the moment. Somewhere between the Halloween candy and pumpkin pie, stress starts running the show. But what if, this November, we didn’t run away from the chaos? What if we run with a goal and thanks?
My Miles of Gratitude Challenge is here to help! Follow the Running (or Walking) Schedule on the challenge calendar to train for whatever goal you set for yourself on Thanksgiving weekend. This could be a 5k Turkey Trot, family fun run, or some other walking/running goal you might have! This month, we’re all athletes in training! 🏃♀️🏃♂️

Move Your Body, Shift Your Mind
This isn’t about becoming a marathoner overnight – it’s about consistency. Research shows that even light to moderate walking boosts serotonin and dopamine levels, improving mood and motivation.
Pair that movement with gratitude, and you’re doubling down on happiness. A 2019 study in Scientific Reports found that people who regularly express gratitude experience stronger emotional resilience and less anxiety.
When you combine the two – movement and gratitude – you’re literally training your brain to find joy in the process.

Gratitude Fuels Greatness
Every day of the challenge, you’ll identify something you’re grateful for. It could be as simple as “warm socks” or as deep as “the strength to start again.” Write it down in a journal, track it in the Kept App, or feel free to share it on social media & tag me!
As I often say, gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more we express it, the more life gives us reasons to keep doing it. That’s not just philosophy – it’s physiology. Gratitude activates the brain’s reward system, releasing feel-good chemicals like dopamine and oxytocin. It’s like your own natural “runner’s high.”
And here’s the best part: the more you practice it, the stronger it gets – just like your legs.
Make Thanksgiving More Significant
Think about this: you’re not just hungry for food at Thanksgiving, you’re also hungry for life. You have been keeping busy this month with exercise, contemplation, and small victories. But appreciating what you have is more important than trying to be perfect. My friend, that’s a shift.
